We teach History as an individual subject. Our ‘Units of Work’ in history have been carefully crafted by expert teachers across our Four School Partnership, identifying composite tasks and breaking them down in to component tasks to ensure sequential, layered knowledge acquisition. These ‘Units of Work’ also support our particular style of teaching. Children use ‘Knowledge Organisers’ to help them to remember key information related to those subjects. London is our classroom and the children take part in a wide variety of out of school visits to places of historical interest and museums linked to their learning e.g. The Golden Hinde and The Museum of London. We work with a local theatre company to create 'Inspiration Days' for our children to introduce them to a new history topic.
