This means resolution, resolve, willpower. “Stand firm and you will save yourselves” (Luke 21:19)

This means the process of being given passion and/or ideas for a task. “I can do all things through him who strengthens me.” (Philippians 4:13)
This means being outstanding or extremely good. “Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart as working for the Lord” (Colossians 3:23-24)
This connects us with each other. “We who are many, are one body in Christ” (Romans 12:5)
This means having strong moral principles e.g. honesty, decency, fairness, equality; having pure and balanced moral character. Mathematics
Mathematics is a core subject and is taught every day. We use the highly effective Singapore approach to the teaching of maths which leads the children to understand mathematical concepts through the use of concrete, then pictoral and finally abstract representations of number. Children are taught the most efficient methods of calculation: addition, subtraction, multiplication and division. They are also taught the other areas of mathematics: number, fractions, geometry, measures and data in a structured and systematic way. We use White Rose Maths as our teaching scheme and the teachers adapt the learning to the needs of their class. There is a daily mathematics lesson and a dedicated part of this lesson is given to mental maths. Children have a weekly arithmetic quiz to keep their fluency with number and calculation strong. There is a strong focus on children being fluent in maths and being able to problem solve and reason so that they are able to apply the maths they have learnt to a variety of real life scenarios.
